Słowo – stulecie „Słowa i realności duchowych" Ferdynanda Ebnera – międzynarodowa konferencja naukowa 18 – 19 XI 2019

Invitation to international scientific conference The Word - 100 Years of “The Word and the Spiritual Realities” by Ferdinand Ebner - 18-19 November 2019, 3 Bernardyńska Street, Lektorium.

The Department of Philosophy of Man at the Faculty of Philosophy (Pontifical University of John Paul II in Cracow) is honoured to invite you to the international scientific conference commemorating the 100th anniversary of The Word and the Spiritual Realities. Pneumatological Fragments by Ferdinand Ebner, which is undoubtedly one of the most important philosophical works of the 20th century. The conference will take place at the University of John Paul II in Cracow (UPJPII), 3 Bernardyńska Street, Lektorium, 18-19 November 2019.
The book written by Austrian philosopher Ferdinand Ebner fits in with the beginnings of the great and immensely significant philosophical trend called “philosophy of dialogue.” This philosophy constitutes a response to the tragedies of the totalitarianisms of the 20th century. In a sense, it is an intellectual balm for the painful and tragic experiences connected with the outbreak of the two world wars.
The Cracow conference will undoubtedly serve as an opportunity to ponder over the role of philosophy in the development of the social and political situation of the contemporary man, as well as a wonderful chance to meet in the reality of the “word,” which should generate understanding, and not divisions. Since the conference will be attended by outstanding thinkers from different quarters of the globe, it will also be an opportunity to promote the Cracow philosophical milieu. This milieu, with particular emphasis on the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Cracow, is not only intellectually imitative, but above all truly creative in originating discussion of subjects the great import of which is self-evident. We dedicate this conference to Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Bernhard Casper of Freiburg im Breisgau, the scholar who was the first one to sensitize Europe and the world to the perennial significance of dialogic thinking.
Please kindly read the official invitation to the conference.

Simultaneous interpretation will be provided during the conference.
